Responsibility and Knowledge

When we discussed plagiarism, we discussed the fact that we can be responsible for knowledge we don’t have. For example, we are responsible for knowing the speed limit; and we’re responsible for understanding what plagiarism is – these responsibilities are now realities, independent of whether or not we know the speed limit or the rules of plagiarism.

What are some other things we are responsible to know, independent of whether we know them or not?

Responsibilities we have today are to do our homework and prepare for tests and quizes. Since it is our responability we have to make sure our homework is done everyday, and that we properly study for upcoming events. There are no excuses for not knowing what homework is, rarely any excuse will cut you any slack. With todays technology you could just go online and find out what is needed. It is out job as a student to make sure everything we were supposed to get done is getting done.

Like the speed limit and plagiarizing, there are some things that we are responsible to know about. If we do not know about them then the consequences will be great. For example, if we don’t know the law then we could get in trouble. We are required to know the law as citizens of a great nation, so no one can get hurt or worse. Another thing we are required to know is how to read and write. If people don’t know how to do those things, then they will get almost no where in life. Also, something that everyone should be responsible for knowing is nutrition. If everyone knew about proper nutrition then not as many people be lazy and would die of heart attacks. As human beings, we have to be responsible to know about certain things or bad things can happen.

Responsibility comes in many shapes and sizes and like speed limit we need to be aware of them. Plagarism is also a variation of this because we need to be responsible for knowing the forms and consequences of plagarism. We need to know this because we need to be aware of what we write either on purpose or on accident to make sure that plagarism is not present. Knowing the rules makes us responsible if we brake them. Howwever if we dont know the rules how can we know if we break them. We need to be either cleared up on the rules of plagarism or be indroduced to them. Having responsiblity is reciveing knowledge. If you want knowledge you must be able to accept the responsiblilty that comes with it. If you want to be able to write essays and get good grades on them you must be able to accept the responsibility of not plagiarizing.

when it comes to playgarizing responsibiltiy is key to make sure that you dont do it. unfortunatly when it comes to playgarizing you cannot say i didnt know that, you have to be responsible for knowing the rules of playgarism just like knowing the speed limit; if you were to get pulled over by a police officer and they told you that you were going 47 in a 30 and you say "oh i didnt know that the speed limit was 30" most likely the officer will give you a ticket. playgarism is the same way, you are responsible for knowing what it is and all the different types this way you wont do it. weather you playgarized on purpose or if you did it by acciddent you have to pay the consequences of it, because you afe responsible for knowing what it is just like the speed limit.

We have many more responsibilities now. Plagiarism and watching out for the speed limit is not the only responsibility we have anymore. As someone else said, we, as students, have the responsibility to study for upcoming quizzes and tests; we are responsible for doing our homework; we have the responsibility to remember to make up missed homework assignments, quizzes, or tests; and we have the responsibility to do our projects. Adults pretty much have the same thing to do, but with their own jobs, which vary. They have to remember to finish their work, which is a lot like homework. No matter what, people will have to be responsible for something, even if their are homeless and jobless, they have to be responsible for something.

Some things that we are responsible for knowing is, for example when you have a test or a quiz in school. If you go into to class on day and the teacher says get ready for the test, you can't say we have a test today, or that I didn't know. It is your responsibility to know. The teacher will probablbly say that she told you last week or a couple of days ago. It is your responsibility to pay attention to the teacher. Plus if you are in high school you are expected to be mature and responsible when it comes to shcool homework, test's, and quizzes.

Some things that we are responsible to know are the basic rules of knowledge, the basic actions that we are supposed to do, and the rules that we should follow. We are required to know basic things such as sleep, eating, talking, walking, and ect. so that we can function in a typical society. Without this knowledge you could not survive or not be able to do the basic necessities such as communication, stopping, starting, and we would not be able to act right. We are required to know basic signs, what they mean, when we are supposed to do actions, and how we do them. Just as we are responsible for not plagiarizing we are also responsible for the actions we do, and how we do them
