I was watching a movie about Shakespeare and who he was. The movie portrayed him as liked by many people, but also disliked by many people also. The actors in his plays were very found of him and thought he was brilliant. But other people didn't think so. Those people who did not like him were the family members of a women that he liked. The women that he liked, her family members didn't aprove of him and when they found out about him, they wanted him dead. So, Shakesspeare was liked by many people but also disliked just as much. So, I don't know that much about Shakespeare or whether to percieve him as a good person in history, or a bad one.
As we read Shakespeare in past years, we realized that the use of old english could be confusing at times. Trying to read it would sometimes be frusterating because you dont't think some of the words sound gramatically correct together. It's also sometimes hard to understand the meaning of what was being read. People would enjoy Shakepeare more when they are more firmilair to the language and words he was using. At times, this could've been a negative experience becuase we were new to the use of older english. It also could've been positive becuase it gets us interested in more genres of books like this.
When I was in 8th grade, I tried out for the shakespheare play Romeo abd Juliet and got into the opening ensemble. While in it, I learned a lot about him and his plays. He was a very smart guy who wrote plays that were, are, and probaly will always be world renowed. I also learned about public speaking and overcame some of my shyness. During that year, we also read Romeo and Juliet, while we watched A Mid-Night Summer's Dream in an esembly. I thought A Mid-Night Summer's Dream was hilarious and Romeo and Juliet had a lot of action in it. I also like the symbolism he use in his plays to get out a message. From that, I like Shakesphere and his plays. He might have been one of the many people who made a difference in this world.
Last year in 8th grade we read MacBeth. Also we read and put on the play for Mid-summers Nights dream. When first reading the play it was very difficult to analysis, however when we went to school the following day our teacher helped us understand what was actually going on. As the story continued it was easier to inderstand what was going on because we new the characters very well and kind of understood what was going to happen later in the story it wasnt that much of a suprise. Also when doing Mid-summers nights dream we went through alot of steps to trully understand the story. First we read it and analysised it then we went and read it allowed in class. Then we brought the characters for each part in and let them act it very generally in front of the class, working on the parts that needed the most help. Finally we practiced for many days on the stage getting a feel for where the props would be placed, where we would stand and how the play would come together. It was alot of fun because it was easy to underdstand through the help of reading it, analysing and acting out the play aswell
The only Shakespeare play I ever read was Romeo and Juliet. Although I thought it was written very well, I had a hard time understanding most of the play. It was ecspecially hard to understand what the characters were really trying to say. This caused my experience with Shakespeare to be more negative than positive. However, I think that it would be more enjoyable for most people if it was easier to understand. If I were to read more plays by Shakespeare, I think that I would really enjoy it because it would than be easier to follow.
I have only read one book by shakeseare and it was a negative experience. The reason I say it was negative was becuase our teacher never really gave us tips on how to read, i found my self struggling to understand just one page of it. I find that i really like things to be realistic rather than fake or very very very unlikely to happen, wheras shakespeare's works are very unrealistic so i find it doesnt get my attention. At the time when he wrote unrealistic was the most interesting thing whereas nowadays it changed to realism. Overall i dont find shakespeare to be that bad if i watch a movie of his works, but i just dont really like to read them.
The first play I remember reading written by Shakespeare was "Romeo and Juliet" last year. I liked this play a lot especially since it had a good theme and gave the reader an important message at the end. Shakespeare put a lot of thought into his writing and it defiantly shows as soon as you start reading and comprehending his work. I also enjoyed this play because after reading a scene my class would discuss what had happened and we would analyze new problems that had come up and new characters that had a big role in the play. Although Shakespeare's writing can be confusing at times, at the end of the play, when everything makes sense, you realize just how well of a writer Shakespeare really was.
I have only read one Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet. I have seen other plays though, such as The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer Night's Dream. I enjoyed all of these, even though it took a very long time to get used to Shakespeare's language. After one gets used to the odd sounding language in the plays, they are very likeable. I found my experience positive. I believe that William Shakespeare was a very very talented writer. We can figure this out by reading his plays and analyzing the contents, or just looking at what a lasting impact he has had on our culture.
The only Shakespeare I have read is Romeo and Juliet. I read it in
8th grade. It was an O.K. experence. We had to act it out and i'm not a great actor. Other than that the only other Shakespeare I know is the plays I have seen. The only play I have seen is a midsummer nights dream in 5th and in 8th grades.
I haven't read much shakespeare, but the shakepeare I have read has been confusing. There are hidden riddles and everything he writes is up for interpretation. I feel like figuring out what he's trying to say is more of a guessing game than anything. However, if I read it over a couple of times and really take my time reading his books it will make more sense. each book I read gets easier. When I really think about what he is saying I like the book. However, I think the plays would be easier to understand because the language isn't easy to understand, the actions in the play will be easier to understand.
Last year, my class and I read MacBeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Romeo and Juliet. As Emily said, it was very difficult to understand what was happening, because some of the words were early modern English, until our teacher helped us translate it. I really liked MacBeth. It was my favorite of Shakespeare's writings that we read, because it had to do a lot with backstabbing, which I find interesting, because things begin to get difficult for the person who started it all. Romeo and Juliet had to be my second favorite of the readings, because it had to do with feuding between two families, while two of the people from the separate families loved each other. This ended in a tragedy, when Romeo killed himself, because Juliet was "dead" (just under "sleeping powder," which made her appear to be dead), and then Juliet woke up to a dead Romeo and killed herself. My least favorite reading had to be A Midsummer Night's Dream. I could not follow this book, even after my teacher had translated it. It was just a love hexagon, or something. In general, I like Shakespeare's writings, especially when they are translated after the actual reading. His use of all of the themes of stories is what I find the most interesting.
I never really liked Shakespeare at all. I found that his writing is hard to understand, and it is boring. I read Rome & Juliet in 8th grade, and I could hardly wait to put the book down. Some people enjoy the books, but I do not. So I think that I have a very negative experience with Shakespeare. I will never read the books on my own.
While reading some plays that were written by shakespeare I learned that he was a great playwright and actor. My experience of Shakespeare is positive because in my opinion he has written great plays that have great dramatic, action, and adventurous plots with dynamic endings that capture the viewers attention. He has written plays of all different types and perspectives that appeal to everyone. The way he introduces and words the play has a large impact on how his stories are presented. When I read many of Shakespeare's play they had all mostly included some form of tradegy and have an interesting plot line that is liked by the majority of people. Shakespeare was a playwright that has written exciting forms of action and tradegy and his literature is still acted and interpreted over the centuries. One experience that I had of Shakespeare was when I read Hamlet. The prince of Denmark had wanted revenge because his uncle Claudius killed his father to become king.
My thoughrs on Shakespear are both positive and negative. My positive views are that the way he wrote was so dificult that to someone who likes to read books that where writtin' about that time would be very engaged and love the way he writes. But sadly i have more negative then positive. Negatiovely i though the wway he wrote was too confuseing. I fel that it was had fro me to draw intrest into his writeing. Nothing about his writeing really made me want to read page after page. I also felt that the weay he wrote was boreing. THe themes he wrote about seemed to go by way to slowly and i couldnt draw interest. Theses are my thoughts on Shakespeare.
