Revenge, or the action of defiance and rage, is portrayed as either a conclusive and simple way to solve an angry dispute, or as an action that is cruel and should not be tolerated. Different people have different views on this subject. Revenge in the end, only hurts yourself and the victim that is attacked in different ways. By expressing the nature of revenge you hurt yourself by stating that you are immature and you can’t reason about the effects of how the action will eventually result in. When you respond to the action expressed by the opponent you will be inflicted once more. This will affect you personally since you will be deeply motivated into responding with another comeback. Ultimately none of the rivals will accomplish anything and will have been affected in one situation or another, causing them to have hurt only themselves by choosing to pursue each other’s action.

The effects of revenge can be devastating and futile to a person since it only causes self-hatred to be acted upon the other victim. If, for instance, a co-worker had purposely taken a bottle of water and poured it all over a worker files, the worker would be extremely mad. If the co-worker had done the same action 3 times a week then the worker would have suppressed enough fury to do something equally as menacing as that action. Consequently, the person has affected himself by suppressing exasperation and affected the co-worker by doing something equal to or worse than the action that was exhibited.

I think that different people look on subject of revenge differently than others. Some believe that revenge is a okay depending on how far you take it. Others believe that revenge is never okay no matter how small.
However revenge I believe gives you that satisfying feeling for only a little then guilt takes over and you start thinking of yourself not as the victim any more but as the criminal. That pleasurable rush that comes over you when the job is done only lasts for so long. In the story of the cask of Amontillado we see that when Montressor telling the story he is actually writing, some what of, a guilt letter explaining what he has done. His guilt I believe had come later in his life. He felt satifaction and accomplishment when he was done with the job then he felt nothing as if it was some sort of story that he read. Finally 50 years later the guilt kicked in as he was lying on his death bead.
Revenge is an interesting topic and depending on the topic and how small the revenge is we can never truly say if revenge is a bad or good thing.

Revenge can make the one who is getting revenge feel better. This, however, does not mean you should get revenge on someone, because that person will try to get revenge on you. The only difference is that the other person's revenge will be worse, and the level of revenge will just keep escalating. So, revenge just goes around and around and around, until it gets so extreme, like in the "Cask of Amontillado." Revenge is not a good thing to get, because you don't know how it will effect the other person, physically and emotionally. And if you get revenge too much, you will create many enemies.

I the story "The Cask of Amontillado" one of the main charactars Montressor became obsessed with seeking on Fortunato. Feelings of jealousy, anger, and competitiveness towards Fortunato became Montressor's main focus. Throughout the whole story, he lied and twisted his words to make sure that Fortunato would fall into his trap. His negative feelings towards Fortunato drove him to the point of insanity. His desire to ruin Fortunato's life also negatively affected his own.

usually when you seek revenge, it drives you crazy until you achieve your goal. But almost every time, it either does not feel as you thought it would be, or it made you feel worse about yourself. But sometimes, a huge rush of excitment comes over you and you do something that you dont intend to do.

Revenge does make you fell better, but only for a few hours or so. Revenge gets you know where and when you show revenge on someone it only gets that person hurt even though they hurt you, be the bigger person and dont retaliate. Retaliation only gets you in trouble. And ager can only last so long so try not to get to caught up in the moment take a few deep breaths, relax and walk away from the problem.
